The remarkable commitment and steadfast dedication of RIHI-Africa volunteers have been instrumental in driving this initiative forward. They have worked seamlessly in partnership with both the County and national government, as well as esteemed organizations such as the Kenya Red Cross Society (KRCS). This collective endeavor underscores our dedication to addressing the possible challenges posed by the impending El Nino rains.

Under the guidance of the County Steering Group (CSG) and the coordination team consisting of NDMA, the Interior Ministry, KRCS, and RIHI-Africa, we have proactively launched a comprehensive cleanliness and preparedness campaign. This multifaceted strategy includes rigorous waste management, maintenance of drainage systems, and community awareness programs.Â
The collaboration among government agencies and respected organizations demonstrates our shared commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents during this crucial period. As we approach the El Nino season, the citizens of Garissa Township in Garissa County, Northern Kenya, can be confident that their township is well-prepared to minimize potential risks and protect their homes and communities. We extend our sincere appreciation to all volunteers, government officials, and partner organizations for their unwavering support and collaborative efforts.
